Lake Management Committee addresses Camp Taconic wake boat impacts

Lake Management Committee · Meeting of June 5, 2026

HINSDALE — Lake Management Committee addresses Camp Taconic wake boat impacts on Ashmere residents. Ashmere Landings, Skyview Grove Association, and individual homeowners detailed shore erosion, damaged docks and swim floats, safety hazards, and estimated remediation costs between $20,000 and $40,000. Camp Taconic's Loren Kleinman announced the camp has sold its large wake boat and will use a smaller vessel this summer; he committed to consulting staff about modifying the ski schedule, relocating the embarkation point, and moving counselor night activities.

The committee unanimously approved May minutes and accepted Cynthia Grippaldi's resignation due to relocation; all other members--Monica Montferret, Duane Bruce, Matt Goggin, Andy Hagadorn, and Brian D'Orio--indicated willingness to serve another term.
