Lake Management Committee approves February minutes, discusses treatment plans
Lake Management Committee · Meeting of April 7, 2026
Hinsdale Lake Management Committee unanimously approved February minutes and reviewed spring water-quality priorities. Chair Monica Montferret reported both lakes are ice-free with only minor dock damage at Plunkett, and noted that Solitude Lake Management recommends a new phragmites chemical treatment less hazardous than prior formulations. Member Andy Hagadorn urged the town to fund comprehensive water-quality testing for both lakes, citing lengthy gaps since prior testing.
The committee discussed replacement signage options after stored stakes were discarded, sought volunteers for newsletter production, and reviewed messaging strategy for an upcoming June meeting with local camps and lake associations regarding wake-boat policy.
