Lake Management Committee elects chair, schedules June treatments

HINSDALE — The Hinsdale Lake Management Committee unanimously elected Cynthia Grippaldi as chair and approved April minutes at its May 5 meeting. The committee confirmed aquatic plant treatments at Plunkett and Ashmere are scheduled for June 11 by Solitude Lake Management, with committee member Brian D'Orio volunteering to post and remove regulatory signs. The FY 2027 budget maintains current treatment spending; fall phragmites treatment at Ashmere is recommended but not yet fully approved, while Plunkett dredging remains unfunded pending causeway evaluation.
The committee will pursue Zebra mussel water quality testing through either a Lee-area lab at $75 per location or Solitude at $500 total, and will meet with lakeside camps and associations during the week of June 15–18.
