Town Meeting approves $3.1 million operating budget, rejects Planning Board size cut.
Town Clerk · Meeting of May 20, 2026
Hinsdale approves $3.1 million operating budget with nearly unanimous support. The FY27 budget represents a 5.6 percent increase and includes a $3,277,495 Central Berkshire Regional School District assessment approved by hand count. The town approved $60,030 from Free Cash for a Water Department Mack Truck lease-to-own, $63,000 from Water Reserves for water system upgrades, and $11,000 to develop a comprehensive Town Code.
However, voters rejected an Article 21 proposal that would have authorized the Select Board to petition the General Court to reduce the Planning Board from five elected members to three members and one alternate. Seventy-three registered voters attended the May 20 meeting at Kittredge Elementary School.
